MANAGING DIRECTOR
Dugald is the Managing Director of ADVISA. He has over 18 years experience working within banking and global professional services and accounting firms. As well as having been Head of Credit at a listed Australian Bank and a Chartered Accountant, Dugald is uniquely placed to assist across both business and private lending. Dugald brings a strategic approach to discussions with his clients, focusing firstly on their strategy, both personally and for their business and then develops structuring solutions based on his client’s strategic goals and objectives.
In addition to providing finance solutions for his clients, Dugald is also able to provide both strategic advice and financial modelling expertise to his business clients. For commercial lending, Dugald uses financial modelling to assist his clients in developing structuring solutions for their business that takes into account both the current position of the company and its future financial performance. This helps his clients understand both the impact that debt structuring decisions will have on their business’s financial performance as well as helping to communicate the strong financial performance of the business to potential lenders.
Dugald commenced his career with Citibank in 2000 and worked for Global Accounting Firm Ernst & Young before moving to Bank of Queensland. Whilst having experience across Banking, Audit and Restructuring Dugald has also been involved in landmark Queensland based M&A transactions including both the acquisition of Virgin Money Australia and Investec Medical Finance businesses by Bank of Queensland Ltd, as well as leading the sale of a non-performing shopping centre backed loan portfolio to a global investment bank. Dugald has experience across residential and commercial lending, financial modelling and forecasting, real estate and business restructuring. Dugald holds bachelor degrees in accounting and law, is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds an Executive MBA from Harvard Business School in the USA.
